Abstract

Objective:To study a simple and rapid method to identify bifidobacteria in yogurt.Methods:A new bifidobacteria identifical medium(adding X-Gal to MRS)was used,on which different colour colonies DNA were abstracted and identified by PCR.Results:White and light blue colonies were bifidobacteria,while dark blue colonies weren't bifidobacteria.Conclusion:X-Gal-based medium can be used to identify bifidobactreia in yogurt.
