Interpretations on Liu Yuxi’s Poetry in Song Dynasty

As a great poet in middle Tang Dynasty,Liu Yuxi is very important in Chinese poetry history.His poems not only affected the poems of the late Tang Dynasty but also the poems of the whole Song Dynasty by developing a new and distinctive style of his own which was obviously different from the school of ‘Han-Meng’ and ‘Yuan-Bai’.And his poems earned a great reputation in the Song Dynasty.So the interpretations on Liu Yuxi’s poems by Song Dynasty’s poets could reflect their views on the poems which worth our attention and discussion.Their views on Liu Yuxi’s poems can be generalized in the following ways:1.Satirical poems about politic,to refuse but to accept it at last;2.Poems about the history and recalling the ancient times;3.The Yuefu poems about folk songs,which are excel and elegant natural sounds.After nearly a hundred years of time of admiring and copycatting,the scholars in Song Dynasty had already read and analyzed calmly the poems of the Tang Dynasty and had developed a series of their own poetic interpretations on the poems of Tang.
