Study on Allelopathy of Cucumber Root Exudates

Abstract

Taking cucumber own-rooted seedlings and grafted seedlings as the test materials,the secretion of cucumber root in different collection temperatures(20 ℃,25 ℃,30 ℃) was investigated,and the effects of different types cucumber seedling root exudates on seeds germination and seedling growth of cucumber and pumpkin were studied.The results showed that the root secretion amount was gradually increased with the increasing of temperature,when the temperature was up to 30 ℃,the root secretion amount was maximum,and the amount of own-rooted seedlings was more than that of grafted seedlings.Root exudates of cucumber had different degree of inhibition to seeds germination rate,germination potential,elongation of radicle and hypocotyls of cucumber and pumpkin,the inhibition was weakened with the decreasing of root exudates concentration.Root exudates of cucumber had different degree of inhibition to seeds germination and seedling growth of cucumber,and the inhibition was decreased to a certain extent by grafting,grafted cucumber could reduce the autotoxic,but it could still produce continues cropping obstacle.
