Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of external-route surgery of retinal detachment. Methods 36 patients (36 eyes) with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment underwent external-route surgery by the same doctor. Microscope was used to locate the hole in the surgery. The visual acuity, reaction and the reattachment of retina were observed after surgery. Results After 15d-167d, 35 of 36 eyes were repaired completely with the rate of 91.9%.Visual acuity were improved in 91.9% (33 of 36)of the total eyes. The corrected acuity was better than 0.3 in 33 eyes(91.7%). The reaction of retinal cryotherapy in all cases were at Ⅰ■Ⅱoetinal cryotherapy and holes were not affected by mild opacity of the refractive media. Conclusin The external-route microsurgery is simple, convenient, reliable and effective in treating rhegmatogenous retinal detachment.
