On the position, function and reform of public basic course in higher vocational education

This paper points out that the public basic courses must be stressed for achieving the aim of training talented personnel according to the situation of the negligence to them in some higher vocational institutions. The author briefly expounds the history and the situation of the public basic courses’ teaching, analyzes the impor- tant role of the public basic courses should play in training qualified students, and sets forth the countermeasures for how to reform the teaching of public basic course.
