396 Cases of Different Treatments of the Middle Turbinate in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery

Objective To observe the long-term therapeutic efficacy endoscopic sinus surgery with different treatments of the middle turbinate.Methods Endoscopic sinus surgery was performed in 396 patients with chronic sinusitis and nasal polypi,who were followed up for 6to 24 months postoperatively.Results Of the patients receiving the operation,336 were cured(84.8%),49 showed improvement(12.4%),and 11 failed to respond to the treatment(2.8%),with a total efficaty rate of 97.2%.Conclusions Appropriate treatment of the middle turbinate in endoscopic sinus surgery with postoperative comprehensive therapy may enhance the therapeutic efficacy and reduce postoperative complications.
