Abstract
AIM To determine the differential diagnosis between hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM)and hypertensive heart disease by Doppler tissue imaging(DIT).METHEDS The systolic and diastolic peak velocities of mitral annular(Vs,Ve,Va)were measured by DTI in 4-chamber,2-chamber and long axis apical view in the normal group,HCM group and hypertensive heart disease group.RESULTS The systolic and early diastolic peak velocities of mitral annular(Vs,Ve)in the HCM group and the hypertensive heart disease group were significantly lower than those in the normal group.Part of the peak velocities of Vs and Ve of regional myocardium in the HCM group were significantly different from those in the hypertensive heart disease group(P0.05).CONCLUSION DTI can be a useful tool in differentiating HCM and hypertensive heart disease.
