Abstract
Mozis cultural ideology is a significant part of the outstanding Mohism. His cultural outlook lies in his objection to the scholastic aristocratic culture favored by Confucianists, his avocation of plain and simple culture of commonalty. As a representative of the interests and the thoughts of the working people from the lower social ladders, Mozi emphasizes the civilization by education, proposes universal love and recommends the value of altruism, which demonstrates that his cultural value orientations are different from those of other schools of social evolution, object the bigoted beliefs in the ancients, and emphasize the combination of recounting with creativity and the inheritance with originality. He is diligent in practice and sticks to the theory of obtaining knowledge by scientific proofs.
