Abstract

Based on the close-to-nature forest management concept in Germany and the theoretical framework of forest health in the United States,this paper reviewed the research advance on the evaluation system of forest resources quality in China in terms of management objective,site condition evaluation,species selection,cultivation and harvesting technique,and so on.In view of current situation in China that has vast territory and generally low forest productivity,this paper put forward some suggestions and strategies aiming to improve the forest productivity in China in the future.
