Abstract
Objective To discuss the influence of inhaled budesonide and salbutamol on inflammatory cells and inflammatory mediators concentrations in induced sputum from children w ith acute bronchial asthma( BA). Methods 62 children with acute BA in pediatric department of our hospital from May 2006 to April 2012 were chosen as the observation group, and 62 healthy children at the same time w ere chosen as the control group. The inflammatory cells and inflammatory mediators concentrations in induced sputum w ere detected before and after the treatment of inhaled budesonide combined w ith salbutamol. Results Before treatment, compared w ith control group, the proportion of neutrophils, eosinophils, monocytes and the total number of cells,IL-6,IL-8,TNF-α in induced sputum in observation group w ere significantly higher( P 0. 01),but the proportion of epithelial cells, lymphocytes w ere significantly low er( P 0. 01). After treatment, the proportion of neutrophils, eosinophils, monocytes and the total number of cells,IL-6, IL-8,TNF-α in induced sputum decreased significantly in observation group( P 0. 01),and the proportion of epithelial cells, lymphocyte increased( P 0. 01). Conclusion Inhalation of budesonide and salbutamol can effectively reduce the sputum inflammatory cells and inflammatory mediators, reduce airw ay inflammation, and relieve the symptoms in children w ith acute BA.
