Abstract

Objective To study the perineum anatomic change of postpartum women after therapy of electromyography Stimulation combined with biofeedback pelvic floor training, to estimate the effect of pelvic floor training. Methods 60 postpartum patients underwent pelvic floor training with PHENIX Biofeedback pelvic floor training set (made in France) from June 2007 to December 2008.The treatment course was 5 to 8 weeks and twice per week. The length of perineum, the width of introitus and the vaginal muscular contractivity were determined before and after the therapy in order to study the perineum anatomic change. Results After one-course-training, the length of perineum increased 2.2 mm averagely, near to the normal length of 30 mm, the width of introitus reduced 6.5 mm.Conclusions Biofeedback pelvic floor training can change the morphology of perineum, is an effective therapy for female dysfunctional diseases.
