Abstract

A theoretical model was established to study the separation of hydrogen isotopes by electrolysis-distillation process, and separation performance of D2/HD/DT was investigated.HD and DT separations behaved differently in electrolysis cell due to their different separation factors.DT concentration increased linearly with time in the reboiler of the first distillation column, reaching a concentration of about 68 times higher than the feeding concentration at 48 h.HD and DT concentration in the reboiler of the second distillation column was decontaminated by one and two orders of magnitude, respectively.HD and DT can be removed by electrolysis-distillation process,as an effective method for heavy water upgrading and detritiation.
