Abstract
To deal with the freshnes of chicken semen diluent and the stability of egg hatchability was unsteady, the chicken semen diluent(named YHFB)modified at early days were used in this experiment. The Shimen roosterswhose semen quality was better than common roosters were used as the experimental materials. There were four groups,1∶1,1∶2,1∶1 semen dilution ratio group(the semen diluent were restored for 2 months)and undiluted semen group. The diluted semens and diluent were mixed at the same temperature. The volume was the same when four groups were used for artificial insemination. The eggs were collected 24 h after insemination and hatched after stored for several days. The results indicated that, for the fertility, there were no significant difference among the four groups(P0.05),and the highest was in 1∶2 group; For the ratio of healthy chicks for fertile eggs and healthy chick for total eggs, there was significant difference between 1∶2 group and 1∶1 group(P0.05),and which were also higher than undiluted semen group(P0.05);Compared with 1∶1 group(the semen diluent were restored for 2 months),there was no significant difference on hatchability in 1∶1 group and undiluted semen group(P0.05). Therefore, the chicken semen diluent developed before could solve the problems mentioned here.
