Soil Salt,Nitrogen Spatial Distribution and Plant Growth Affected by Irrigation Method

Abstract

A pot experiment with 2 different irrigation method(drip irrigation and furrow irrigation)was carried out to evaluate effects on distribution of water,salt and nitrogen spatial distribution in soil and effects on cotton growth and development.The results showed that the distribution of water and salt in soil were significantly influenced by irrigation methods,water was seeped deeper in drip irrigation than in furrow irrigation,and salt was concentrated under 30cm depth,with drip irrigation under mulch,the soil water evaporation was lower than furrow irrigation,and formed a desalted zone located at 0~30cm depth and in 15cm width centered emitter,cotton root could absorbed more water and nutrient from root zone,the cotton plant grow better than in furrow irrigation.
