Abstract
Objective To analyze the epidemiological features of HIV infection in newly registered tuberculosis(TB) cases in Guangxi and offer theoretic evidence for making TB/HIV double infection strategy and reasable allocation of resources. Methods Questionaire survey and detection of HIV infection in TB cases were conducted in 15 counties systematically sampled in Guangxi. Results There 2 772 TB patients were surveyed .and 54 were positive for HIV with total positive rate of 1.95% including 46 males (2.38%). The HIV infection rate in the age group of 15-49 years was 2.54%,The infection rates on administrators/teachers,waiter,those with junior middle school educational backgroud,married, unmarried were 3.54%,2.94%,3.09%,2.15%,and 0.86%. Conclusions Coordintation of HIV/AIDS and TB control be carried to control the spread of HIV and tuberculosis.
