Neither Can he Further his Contribution for Homeland nor Protect his Own Life——WANG Fu-zhi's Attitude to YUE Fei in Comments of Song Dynasty

In Comments of Song Dynasty,WANG Fu-zhi essentially took a positive attitude to YUE Fei,and appraised his gifts,personal integrity and achievements highly.Meanwhile,WANG Fu-zhi pointed out that the tragic fate that YueFei failed regaining the Central Plains of China and suffered being executed wrongly resulted from the concurring of three factors: Song dynsaty's prevailing national policy of restraining military force;capitulationism of Emperor Gaozong and wicked minister QIN Hui;and deficient cultivation of YUE Fei himself.Being a trditional intellectual and exposed in the political turbulence during Ming-Qing transitional period,WANG Fu-zhi had limitations of his own,though his viewpoints represented the mighty practical significance of his time.
