Abstract
OBJECTIVE To know the down’s screening results and pregnancy outcome of the second trimester pregnant women taken down’s screening in the region. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the data of 1 697 pregnant women followed up from January 2010 to October 2011. The screening results and pregnancy outcome were also analyzed. Those cases were followed through telephone and outpatient examination after the delivery of hospital medical follow-up. RESULTS The high risk rate by down’s screening in different ages were 11.11.%, 14.67%, 20.54%, 33.78% and 57.14%, respectively. It is significantly different in different ages (χ2 = 33.95, P﹤0.05). Down syndrome prevalence between high risk and low risk pregnant is significantly different in prenatal diagnosis (χ2 = 11.90, P﹤0.05), and the outcome of the pregnancy induced labor rate was 0.77% and 0.10%, respectively. The abortion rate was 0.41%. Birth defects rate was 0.88%, and normal infants was 97.64%. CONCLUSION Down’s screening can predict fetal chromosomal abnormalities reliably. The down’s syndrome at high risk has close relationship with maternal age.
