Abstract
The effects of phosphorus and cadmium interaction on the growth of tobacco in calcareous soils by pot trial[0]s was studied. The results showed that P addition could reduce the toxicity of Cd to tobacco growth. The tobacco biomass increased with the increase of P concentration in the soil. When P concentration was at the level of 150mg kg-1,the biomass of tobacco increased significantly. However, the above-ground biomass change was more than the underground biomass. The Cd content in tobacco increased at first and then decreased with the increase of P concentration in the soil,When Cd concentration was kept at the same level, the Cd content in tobacco had the same changing trend. The results also showed that when P concentration was same in soil, the P content in plant decreased with the increase of Cd concentration.P and Cd concentration in plant had a positive correlation with the P and Cd concentration in soil.
