Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To analyze and compare the constituents of the essential oils from the fresh and dried pericarps of Citrus sinensis. METHOD: The essential oils from the fresh and dried pericarps of C. sinensis were extracted by water steam distillation method and analyzed by GC-MS. RESULT: 28 and 25 components were identified from the essential oils of the fresh and dried pericarps of C. sinensis respectively, 37 components were identified from both samples totally, among which 26 components were identified in the essential oils of the pericarps of C. sinensis for the first time. CONCLUSION: The most components in both oil samples were similar and main component of the both oils was limonene (90. 16% and 77. 34%).
