The Interpretation of Yin Zhi-Ping Image in Jin Yong's Novels

On the basis of the particular works of Jin Yong as well as the relevant historical and religious documents,Yin Zhiping,a Quan Zhen Daoist and a major character in Jin Yong’s novels will be analyzed.There is a relatively large gap between the real historical figure and events and the character in the novels in such major aspects as his political attitudes,his feelings and disposition.However,as far as novel writing is concerned,creating such an unusual character is necessary,yet it may violate the principle of novel persona reality to regard this character as the Yin Zhiping in historical reality.This can well account for the greater importance attached to artistic reality than to hsitorical reality by the novels in the initial period of Jin Yong’s literary creation
