Research and Application of the Panicle Type Improved Theory and Technology in Northern Japonica Rice

On the basis of summarizing the study progresses on plant type in rice,the article introduced the main results of fine mapping and genetic endowment of erect panicle,the relationship between group structure,matter production,yield and panicle type,relationship of panicle type with grain filling and quality,the panicle type traits comparative study of the Northern rice design principles and parameters about ideal panicle type and the panicle type improved technologies of northern japonica rice and so on,and compared the relative studies at home and abroad.We pointed out the future need for further exploration and use of new genetic resources of erect panicle,and rich genetic basis.Molecular markers were used to polymerize favorable genes,such as developed vascular bundle,the number of first branches and its grains,distribution of secondary branch superior on the upper part,and good flavour,and so on.The yield and quality reached a to new equilibrium at a higher level.The genetic and physiological and ecological mechanisms of erect panicle varieties were studied only in the japonica rice,the exploration on its using value in indica rice,especially in hybrid indica rice shonld be made.
