Abstract
[Purpose] To evaluate the screening effects of liquid-based cytologic test (LCT) and colposcopy for cervical cancer. [Methods] A population based cross-sectional study on women aged 20~54 with cervical cancer in Xinmi city,Henan province undergoing, colposcopy, cervical cytology and biopsy examination were analyzed. [Results] For LCT,the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 70.0%,97.9%,28.0% and 99.6%,respectively. For colposcopy, the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value were 70.0%,94.4%,12.5% and 99.6%,respectively. Youden's indexes for LCT and colposcopy were 67.9% and 64.4%,respectively. Crude agreement for LCT and colposcopy were 97.6% and 94.1%,respectively. [Conclusion] Both LCT and colposcopy have high sensitivity and high specificity for cervical cancer screening.
