The application of internal jugular vein catheter in hemodialysis ( with 27 cases report)

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the internal jugular vein catheterization in hemodialysis.Methods: Retrospectively analyze the treatment effects of 27 patients with chronic renal failure who accept right internal jugular vein catheter for hemodialysis from December 2008 to November 2011,and the blood flow of hemodialysis,dialysis catheter thrombosis,catheter-related infections and other indicators are summarized.Results: The average blood flow of hemodialysis is(230.14 ± 64.05) mL / min,and the average time of indwelling catheters was(13.6 ± 7.3) months.The infection and thrombosis rate was 17.5% and 11.1%.Conclusion: The method of internal jugular vein catheter can last longer with adequate blood flow and complete dialysis,which is a good choice for the patients who can not establish arteriovenous fistula,but we still should pay more attention to the prevention of infection and thrombosis.
