Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion plus cupping in treating herpes zoster.Methods Eighty patients with herpes zoster were randomly allocated to a treatment group of 50 cases and a control group of 30 cases.The treatment group received acupuncture and moxibustion plus cupping and the control group,medication.Results The cure rate and the total efficacy rate were 68.0% and 96.0%,respectively,in the treatment group and 50.0% and 83.3%,respectively,in the control group.There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture and moxibustion plus cupping is an effective way to treat herpes zoster.
