Abstract
Constant speed elongation is used to test the elongation physics of Vectran filament with the test result analyzed and compared. The result shows that: twist has a quadratic polynomial relationship with breaking strength of Vectran filament and a linear relationship with breaking elongation;with the increase of the sample length of Vectran filament, the breaking strength shows increased firstly and then decreased, while the breaking elongation shows the opposite trend;there is a slight increase of breaking strength of Vectran filament with the increase of tensile speed, but yarn breaking elongation is not very obvious. The result also indicates that sizing can improve the elongation of Vectran filament.
