English Translation of Intertextuality,Rhetorical Question and Metonymy in Mao Zedong Poems

Beauty in artistic conception is one of the most outstanding aesthetic features in Mao Zedong poems,and rhetorical devices play an important role in creation of beauty in artistic conception.Mao Zedong is original in using various rhetorical devices,through which he has created his unique artistic conception.In English translation,if rhetorical information is lost,the aesthetic information in the original poem will be weakened,and the original style will be distorted.Therefore,translation of rhetorical devices is of great importance.The paper makes a contrastive study on different English translations of three rhetorical devices such as intertextuality,rhetorical question,and metonymy adopted in Mao Zedong poems.
