Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effect of perioperative rehaplitatation management on joint function recovery following total knee replacement (TKR). Methods:170 patients subject to TKR were randomly divided into rehabilitation group (n=85) and control group (n=85). The patients in rehabilitation group received perioperative education, postoperative super-early rehabilitation treatment (0-72 h after operation) and early stage treatment (4-14 days after operation). Rehabilitation treatment included respiratory exercise, muscle exercise, joint mobility exercise, balance exercise, sensory, pace and movement exercise. All patients were assessed by HSS and ROM standards. Results:There was no significant difference between two groups before operation. The HSS and ROM scores on the postoperative day 7 and 14 were significantly higher in the two groups than those before TKR (P0.05),and those in rehabilitation group were significantly higher than in control group (P0.01). Conclusion:Perioperative rehabilitation management for patients after TKR may play an important role in the function recovery.
