Abstract
Based on the analysis of definition of germ plasm and germ plasm resource in the paper,it was thought that all of present definitions of germ plasm and germ plasm resource were inappropriate,so the germ plasm and germ plasm resource were redefined: germ plasm was meant to be individual population of congeneric live-form with relatively homogenous genetic substance,whereas germ plasm resource was meant to be general designation of one kind of life-forms or all of germ plasms existed in one region
