Cellulosome and Its Research Advances in Rumen Microorganism

Abstract
Cellulosome refers to a kind of multi-enzyme complex produced by the anaerobic microbes,which can connect the microorganism with cellulose and thereby effectively catalyze the degradation of crude fibre.It has been found and presented in Clostridium thermocellum.In recent years,rumen microbiologists have put increasing efforts on the study of cellulosome of rumen microbes.In this article,based on the latest literature,the development of the concept,the evidence for the presence of cellulosome,the molecular structure of cellulosome and its function,and the study on cellulosome-like structure in the rumen are respectively reviewed.[Chinese Journal of Animal Nutrition,2006,18(Suppl):361-366]
