Abstract
Calorific value of poor quality coal can be determined by addition of benzoic acid as standard, which can enhance the sample to burn out.The calculated value of the total bomb calorific value of the mixture measured during the experiment minus calorific value of benzoic acid is divided by the weight of coal, giving out the bomb calorific value of coal.According to bomb calorific value of coal, the high and low calorific value of coal can be calculated.
