Abstract

Ancient poems of reclusion underwent the transference from calling to inquiring for recluse. Eminent poets in the Tang Dynasty generally had writings on it. Resultless Inquiring for Recluse written by Jia Dao, as top poem of inquiring for recluse, was given much concern by ancient and present compilers, critics and philosopher. The paper gives a comprehensive investigation into its modernity from the perspective of both poems of reclusion in the Tang Dynasty and history of interpretation. It is inspiring for the modernization of ancient poems.
