Abstract
To cope with the fact that classic Rankine and Coulomb earth pressure theory cannot consider the effects of wall movement on earth pressure and the scope of application is relatively limited,based on the study of the relationship of the soil friction angle with cohesion force and displacement of rigid retaining wall under quasi active state offered by available literatures,the method of effective area ratio of wall movement is used to quantify the relationship to retaining wall under movement mode of rotation about base. Based on this,oblique layer analysis method is used to derive the formula of active earth pressure distribution,resultant force and its application position under unlimited state which considers the cohesion force of backfill,the adhesive force on interface of retaining wall,and the uniformly distributed load. Under corresponding simplified conditions,this formula can be simplified to Rankine's and Coulumb's formulas. The result of example analysis shows that the calculated and measured earth pressure essentially match,the change regulation of non-limit earth pressure under movement mode of rotation about base with displacement is primarily obtained.
