Abstract
The groundwater system of Yancheng in Jiangsu Province is a compound aquifer system, three dimensional numerical model is applied and deals with it as inhomogeneous anisotropy aquifer in spatial. Based on the validation and verifying of this model, according to the request of geological environment control such as land subsidence, salty water infiltration and so on, the authors plan and forecast the quantity of groundwater exploitation and the optimal exploitation pattern in every aquifer when the lowest groundwater level in confined aquiferⅡ, confined aquifer Ⅲ, and confined aquifer Ⅳ rises to -20m, -30m, and -40m again year by year respectively by the end of Dec 2004, and forecasts the quantity of groundwater exploitation when the groundwater level depression cone in every aquifer trend to reach stabilization.
