Abstract
Gaosongshan gold deposit is located in the Xiaoxing'anling Ore Concentrating District,Northeast China.Lower Cretaceous andesite is the main host rock.Ore bodies occur as high-angle veins controlled by tensile faults.Metallic minerals consist of pyrite, less chalcopyrite, galena and sphalerite, native gold and electrum.Alteration mineral assemblages are quartz, adularia, sericite(illite)and calcite.Ore structures mainly include veinlet-stockwork structure, brecciated structure, disseminated structure and bladed structure, etc.Ore forming fluids are lowtemperature,low-salinity and of meteoric water origin.C-S-Pb isotope compositions show that ore-hosting volcanic rocks or magmatic vapor provided ore-forming materials.By comparing with the geological-geochemical characteristics of typical Mesozoic epithermal gold deposits in northeastern China,it is evidenced that the Gaosongshan gold deposit is a typical low-sulfidation epithermal gold deposit.
