Abstract

The changes in consumption structure of rural residents in Hebei province were analyzed using gray correlation analysis model and the GM(1,1) prediction model based on cluster analysis of per capita individual consumption expenditures data, including food, clothing, living, household equipments, medical care, transportation and communication, culture and education and amusement and others to optimize the consumption structure in rural areas. Results show that the consumption structure of rural residents has changed to some extent from means of subsistence-dominant to enjoyment and development.Countermeasures and suggestions aiming at optimizing the consumption structure of rural residents are proposed as the constraints will still exist in a given period.
