Abstract

Objective To detect the relationship between latent hypertension and left ventricular diastolic function.Method Left ventricular diastolic function was evaluated by color Doppler echocardiography in Ⅰ group (34 patients, who had a history of hypotension or a declined one, were going to be hypertensive afterwards, but still within the normal extent of WHO standard 1978),Ⅱ group (34 patients with Ⅰ or Ⅱ phase hypertension),and 30 control subjects. Results Left ventricular diastolic function descended in the former two groups, and there was no difference between E and A peaks, but which two peaks were higher remarkably than those in control group (P0 01).Left ventricular diastolic functions of the two groups all improved after drug treatment. Conclusion The examination of left ventricular diastolic function contributes to finding out latent danger factor of hypertension.
