Zeng Fanren's Thoughts on Ecological Aesthetic Education

According to the objectives of the IUCN of International Protection of Nature and Natural Resources and the United Nations' Manifesto of Human Environment,Zeng Fanren put forward the concept of aesthetic education,a new form of aesthetic education that is not only called for by the transformation of and art but also meets a realistic need to cope with the ecological challenges.In Zeng's opinion,ecological aesthetic education has ecological existence for its philosophical base,the relational beauty of the eco-system for its educational instrument and the categories related to a beautiful human existence for teaching contents.It is an education of participatory aesthetics involving all the human senses with a view to instilling among the citizenry a correct conception of nature and an ecological aesthetic lifestyle.
