Abstract

Effects of salt stress on dry weight, ion uptake of two eggplant varieties(Yinqie,Hangqie) were conducted by pot experiments. The results showed that when salt content in soil was greater than 1.5 g/kg,growth vigor of the Hangqie was significantly decreased. While salt content in soil lies between 1.0-2.5 g/kg,growth vigor of Yinqie had no significant effect. With increasing of salt stress, the Na+ content increased,K+ and Ca2+ contents decreased in dry weight of the aerial part plant of two cultivars.Under the same salt stress, contents of K+ and Ca2+,values of K+/Na+ and K+/Ca2+ of Yinqie were all higher than those of Hangqie. This indicated that salt resistance of Yinqie was stronger than that of Hangqie.
