Abstract
Human papillomavirus is the most common sexually transmitted infective agent.Persistent infection of high-risk types of HPV is considered a necessary step for development of cervical cancer.Adolescent and young adult women are the most dangerous population of anal and genital HPV infections,so,it is necessary to give them appropriate popular science education about HPV knowledge and dangers associated with HPV infection and to perform gynecological care among them.Focusing on adolescent and young adult women,in this article, we reviewed HPV infection status among this population and role of HPV infection in occurrence and development of genital warts,genital intraepithelial neoplasia and cervical cancer.
