Abstract

The relationship between leaf length, leaf width, leaf area,SPAD values, fresh weight and dry weight were studied in this paper by using the leaves of Starkrimson pears.Three multiple regression equations which estimating the leaf area, fresh weight and dry weight respectively were established as:Y_(LA)=-10.84102 +6.52299X_w+0.55063X_(LW)-0.62566X_(w~2)(R~2=0.9149);Y_(FW)=0.40273- 0.16328X_L+0.06057X_(LW)+0.00311X_S-0.03973X_(w~2)(R~2=0.9439),Y_(DW)=0.15305-0.07116X_L+0.02439X_(LW)+0.00199X_S-0.01582X_(w~2)(R~2= 0.9126);where Y_(LA) is the leaf area,Y_(FW) is the leaf fresh weight,Y_(DW),is the leaf dry weight,X_L is the leaf length,X_W is the leaf width, X_s is the S_(PAD) value,X_(LW)=X_L-X_W,and X_(w~2)=X_w-X_w.For validation of the models, estimated values for individual leaf area, fresh weight, and dry weight showed strong agreement with the measured values, respectively.
