Abstract

By researching into the Tian Mingru case, the paper analyses the success and failure of the Qing dynasty's legal system in the southern ethnic minority areas. It is pointed out in this paper that the policies of the Qing dynasty, change from the aboriginal officer ruling to the central government ruling in the ethnic minority areas, have many successful experiences for reference now.
