Monogenoidea of marine fishes from Hainan island IV. Two new species of haliotrema from south China sea

In the present paper two new species of Haliotrema Johnston and Tiegs, 1922 are described.Type specimens are deposited in the Department of Biology,Hainan Normal University. 1.Haliotrema hainanensis Pan Zhang,sp.nov.(Fig. 1 : a,b,c) Host: Chaetodon wiebeli Kaup Location:gills Locality:Wanning(19.00°N,110 38°E),Hainan Island Date:Apr.9,1996 Body length 0 270—0 400mm,width 0 050—0 055mm,Pharynx 0 015? ? 018mm in size .Marginal hooklets about 0 001mm in length.Dorsal central large anchors 0 040? ? 043mm in total length,basal portion about 0 025mm,point 0 013—0 018mm,inner root 0 018—0 020mm,outer root 0 003—0 005mm .Dorsal connective plate about 0 005mm× 0 028 ? ? 030mm in size.Ventral central large anchors 0 028—0 033mm in total length,basal portion about 0 020mm,point 0 013—0 015mm,inner root about 0 008mm,outer root about 0 003mm.Ventral connective plate about 0 005mm×0 028—0 030mm in size. Copulatory organ 0 030—0 040mm in total length.Copulatory tube thin and Z shaped,0 028—0 030mm in length according to its curved degree .The supporting apparatus spirally curved,0 033—0 040mm in length.Vagina 0 018—0 023mm×0 013—0 015mm in size. Eggs have not been discovered after examination.Description is based on 4 specimens. Eggs and vagina have not been discovered after examination.Description is based on 8 specimens. The new species is closely related to H.canescens Yamaguti,1968 in the shape of the dorsal and ventral anchors,but differs from the latter in the structure of the ventral connective plate being a triangular apophysis with a hole in the middle part,and the chitinous measurement of the copulatory tube.
