Abstract
Fatigue tests on tension-shear spot welds of single-spot and two-spot were carried out.The crack initiation location and crack shape were observed.Deformation of two kinds of specimens was analyzed by finite element method.Comparison of the load amplitude-life relationship between two kinds of spot welds showed that the fatigue life of two-spot welds approaches twice of the single-spot specimens.Fatigue lives of two-spot welds were predicted by two load amplitude –life relationship of single–spot.The results showed good agreement with experimental results.
