A survey of HIV/STD,HBV and HCV infections and risk behaviors among MSM in two central districts of Guiyang city

Objective To realize AIDS/STD infections among MSM and their KAP(knowledge,attitude,practice)about AIDS/STD,and provide experience and evidence for effective interventions.Methods A total of 406 MSM were surveyed anonymously,and then their genitals and anus were examined.Finally,their blood and urethra secretion samples were tested for HIV/STD/HBV/HCV.Results The majority of studied MSM were young people,with an average age of 24 years and had high education,and the infection rate of HIV and HBsAg reached 5.9% and 3.2% respectively,the positive rate of anti-HCV and syphilis reached 2.0%,the morbidity of acute gonorrhea,condyloma acuminata and herpes progenitalis reached 1.5%,2.5% and 0.7% respectively,and there was concurrent infection of HIV,HBV,HCV and STD among them.Although MSM's knowledge level about AIDS/STD was relatively high,their risk sexual behaviors was high too,and only 27.4% of them persistently used condom during their anal sex in the recent six months,and they had on average 2 sex partners.Conclusions The infection or incidence rate of AIDS/STD is high,the risk behaviors connected with AIDS/STD is common among the studied MSM,and consequently effective interventions should be taken among them and peer sex health education should be strengthened for the adolescent.
