Abstract

This paper studies the effect of potassium nitrate(KNO3) on inhabiting the ANⅣ~ANⅢ phase transition of ammonium nitrate(NH4NO3) and its application on improving anti-caking property for powdery emulsion explosive.Experiment results from differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),high-low temperature and compressive strength test show that the addition of 2% KNO3 could inhabit ANⅣ~ANⅢ phase transition totally, improve the crystallization and thermal stability of NH4NO3,reduce the compressive strength of powder emulsion explosive and resolve its caking phenomenon effectively.
