On the Construction of a Close Cross-strait Economic Cooperation Zone in the Economic Zone on the West Coast of the Taiwan Strait

The Economic Zone on the West Coast of the Taiwan Strait has made some achievements in economic cooperation with Taiwan by taking its advantages in recent 30 year. To what degree the advantages could be taken and the achievements could be made is positively related with the sustainable development of the open economy of the Economic Zone on the West Coast of the Taiwan Strait,and has close relationship with the position and relevant special policy endowed by central authority. In new stage,to make full use of its advantages and further achievements faces not only some constraints and challenges but also great opportunities and possibilities,but is still needed and depends on new position and relevant special policy endowed by central authority in accordance with the new situation. Currently,A test and pilot zone for cross-strait economic communication and cooperation,such as economic liberalization and integration,industry cooperation and financial cooperation,which is open and conformed to the undiscriminating rule of WTO,should be built in the Economic Zone on the West Coast of the Taiwan Strait to construct an integrative platform for deepening reform and opening up,promoting the coordinated development of all regions,and promoting the close cross-strait cooperation.
