Abstract

The spark plasma sintering(SPS) is a new kind of material fabrication technology with advantages of rapid temperature rising,short sintering time,controllable pressure and sintering atmosphere as well as high relative density of resulting materials.The progress in the SPS technology is reviewed,including the principle,equipment and application in precious metals material processing.The existing problems associated with this technology is also discussed herein.
