Abstract
Based on the tradition of Formalism, the Russian scholar M.M. Bakhtin puts forward his famous theorydialogism, which emphasizes the polyphony novel, containing many kinds of resonance and dissonance voices. Applying this dialogism theory to Faulkner's short story Dry September, this paper tries to re-analyses it from the perspectives of the dialogue in the barbershop under the limited perspective; one of self-contradiction in the synchronic discourse, and the one in the textual structure. In fact, these dialogues enrich the content, and strengthen the tension of the story.
