Abstract
Objective: To compare the clinical effect between transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP) and transurethral plasmakinetic resection of the prostate(PKRP) for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH).Methods: 136 patients with BPH were randomly divided into two groups underwent PKRP and TURP respectively. The clinical parameters and international prostate symptom score(IPSS),quality of life(QQL),residual urine volume(RUV) and the maximal urinary flow rate(Qmax) were compared. Results: Compared with TURP group, the mean operation time, the average amount of bleeding, flushing time, leaving management time, staying hospital time in PKRP group were significantly shorter and more reduce(P0.05).The IPSS,QOL,Qmax and RUV were significantly improved(P0.05 or P0.01) after operation. However, there were no significantly change between two procedures(P0.05).The complication rate of PKRP decreased significantly compared with TURP(P0.01).Conclusion: The clinical effect of PKRP is better than TURP,and with low complication rate.It is a more ideal surgical method for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia,be worthy of promotion and application.
