Abstract
Hydrogen is viewed as the most potential energy carrier because it's clean, efficient and renewable. Among the various hydrogen production technologies, water electrolysis powered by renewable energy is the most mature and most promising method, and is the best way to the coming hydrogen economy. The basic theories and research status of alkaline electrolyzer, Polymer electrolyte membrane electrolyzer and solid oxide electrolyzer are introduced in this paper. And the relevant problems and the development trend are discussed.
